Late to the party? Maybe. As the electric vehicle wave accelerates across Nepal, one of the most trusted and familiar automotive brands—Suzuki—is finally stepping into the EV arena. And it’s doing so with the all-electric eVitara.

CG | Motocorp, the authorized distributor of Suzuki vehicles in Nepal, will showcase the eVitara at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2025, marking the brand’s official foray into the all-electric SUV space.

The eVitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first-ever all-electric SUV, and its arrival promises to shake up the status quo. While technical specifications and pricing for the Nepalese market are still under wraps, that’s because the product is yet to be officially launched in India.

The India launch is expected around September 2025, and there’s strong speculation that Nepal could receive the model simultaneously or shortly thereafter. Still, the Indian-spec variant offers a clear look at what to expect—and it’s nothing short of impressive.

According to reports, the eVitara will be offered in two battery configurations. The first features a 49kWh batterypaired with a front motor producing 144hp and 189Nm of torque. The second, more powerful setup uses a 61kWh battery, increasing power to 174hp while retaining the same torque. This version is expected to deliver a real-world range of over 500 kilometers (MIDC), making it ideal for both city and intercity driving.

For those seeking versatility and capability, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant will also be available. This configuration adds a 65hp rear motor, pushing total output to 184hp and 300Nm of torque, offering better traction and confidence in hilly and rough-road conditions.

The eVitara's interior features a modern, function-focused design. The cabin includes a twin-deck floating center console, ambient lighting, and soft-touch materials throughout. A 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster provide a tech-rich experience. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a premium Harman audio system.

Features like ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and reclining/sliding rear seats with a 40:20:40 split make it both comfortable and practical for families.

When it comes to protection, the eVitara ticks all the right boxes. The eVitara is built using more than 50% high-tensile steel for added strength and rigidity. The battery pack comes with integrated safety features. The SUV will be equipped with seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, and will offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), including lane assist and autonomous emergency braking.

Other standard safety features include all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake (EPB), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an emergency call system (e-Call).

In terms of size, the eVitara is a proper midsize SUV, measuring 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Its dimensions put it squarely in the ring with rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv ev, and Mahindra BE 6, all of which are vying for attention in Nepal’s fast-growing EV SUV segment.

With Suzuki finally entering the EV space and the NADA Auto Show 2025 right around the corner, the eVitara is shaping up to be one of the most significant unveilings of the year. Suzuki may be late to the party, but their electric SUV could show that arriving late can pay off—especially if the product delivers. Only time will tell.
